H.E. Dr. Chea Serey, Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia, received a delegation from the United States Department of the Treasury, led by Ms. Maida Furnia, Regional Director for Terrorist Financing and Financial Crimes for Asia and the Pacific, accompanied by officials from the U.S. Embassy in Cambodia, on 30 April 2026 at the National Bank of Cambodia, Wat Phnom Building.
The discussion underscored the importance of international cooperation in addressing emerging risks, including cross-border financial crimes. Ms. Maida Furnia highlighted the critical role of central banks and relevant authorities in safeguarding the integrity of the financial system through effective oversight and supervision.
On this occasion, H.E. Governor emphasized the importance of customer due diligence and Know Your Customer (KYC) practices, the promotion of responsible finance, and continued collaboration with international partners to preserve financial stability and strengthen public confidence.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further enhancing cooperation in information sharing and other areas of mutual collaboration.
