H.E. Rath Sovannorak, Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia, accompanied by NBC's officials, attended the 20th China-ASEAN Expo and China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit, and the 15th China-ASEAN Summit Forum on Financial Cooperation and Development on 16-19 September 2023 in Nanning, Guangxi, People’s Republic of China.
In the 15th China-ASEAN Summit Forum on Financial Cooperation and Development, H.E. Rath Sovannorak, together with head of central banks, financial regulatory authorities, financial institutions, enterprises of China, as well as experts, to engage in extensive and in-depth discussions and exchange experiences on China-ASEAN financial cooperation under theme of High-Quality Development of Financial Services for the Belt and Road Initiative. The discussion focuses on various major topics such as global and regional economy, the importance of cooperation and connectivity of financial system and economy between China-ASEAN, fostering on the usage of local currency in trade settlement, promoting on sustainable finance, and the development of digital financial system.
Additionally, Mr. Heng Bomakara, First Deputy Director General of Banking Supervision of the National Bank of Cambodia, attended a round table discussion on strengthening China-ASEAN regional currency cooperation and serving China-ASEAN community with a shared future in the purpose of exchanging experiences and collecting inputs to enhance China-ASEAN cooperation. The round table discussed on trade and financial cooperation between China-ASEAN, as well as illustrated the support on the usage of Chinese Yuan in trade settlement and cross-border payment.
